A Tema wellness business filled a role in three days on the platform. SokoJob says the bottleneck in Ghanaian hiring is no longer the number of applicants — it is sorting them, and knowing which employer on the other side is real.
ACCRA, Ghana — 28 July 2026 — SokoJob, a Ghana-focused recruitment platform, has passed 7,500 candidate profiles, two years after launching in Accra.
The growth has come from small and medium businesses rather than large corporates — a wellness business in Tema, a professional services firm in Accra, companies hiring two or three people a year with no HR department. For them, a single vacancy produces a volume of applications that arrives by email, WhatsApp and several job boards at once, and nobody whose job it is to read them.
SokoJob compares CV and profile information against the requirements of a specific vacancy, then ranks applicants by how closely their skills and experience match the role. Employers post a vacancy, receive applications in one place, review a ranked shortlist, and track every candidate through to a decision.
“A Ghanaian SME advertising an administrative role can receive hundreds of applications in a few days, and has nobody whose job it is to read them,” said Roberta Mensah, Strategy Manager at SokoJob. “The hard part is not finding people. It is finding the handful worth interviewing — and, on the other side of the same advert, knowing that the company behind it exists.”
Verification before the vacancy goes live
Every employer on SokoJob verifies a phone number and completes a company profile before a job can be published, and candidates apply only to vacancies on that verified list.
That check is a large part of why candidates come back, the company says. Job adverts that lead nowhere are a persistent problem for Ghanaian jobseekers, and the pressure behind it is well documented: the Ghana Statistical Service reported a 32 percent unemployment rate among 15-to-24-year-olds in 2024, and found that young people accounted for seven of every ten unemployed people in the country. With that much competition for each opening, a jobseeker cannot afford to spend a week on an application that was never real.
From vacancy to hire in three days
Zamunda Spa, a wellness business in Tema Community 22, needed a massage therapist with both clinical skill and strong customer service. Earlier attempts had been slow and produced candidates who met one requirement or the other, rarely both.
Using SokoJob, the company identified and hired a suitable therapist within three days.
“SokoJob connected us with exactly the right person, faster than we thought possible,” said Obed Atta-Poku, CEO of Zamunda Spa.

Technology that sorts, people who decide
SokoJob does not automate hiring decisions. The system organises applications and ranks relevance; interviews, judgement about context and cultural fit, and the final call stay with the employer.
“Technology can make the process faster and better organised,” Mensah said. “It cannot tell you whether someone will work out. That is still a conversation between two people.”
Candidates can create a profile, upload a CV and apply for free at sokojob.com. Employers can post a vacancy and access the candidate network at the same address.
