This Privacy Policy explains how SokoJob (“we”, “us”) — an AI-powered job platform connecting employers and job seekers across Ghana — collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use sokojob.com and related services. It complements our Terms and Conditions and Cookie Policy.

• Account & profile data — name, email, phone, password (hashed), and the CV/profile information job seekers choose to publish (experience, skills, expectations).
• Employer data — company details, job advertisements, and recruiter account information.
• Usage & device data — IP address (collected anonymously), browser/device type, pages viewed and interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
• Communications — messages exchanged through the platform and with our team.

• To provide the service — create your profile, match candidates and jobs, enable applications and messaging (performance of a contract).
• To operate, secure and improve the platform, prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interests).
• For analytics and product insights, only where you have given consent (consent) — see the Cookie Policy.
• To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).

We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 2 (two) years from your last sign-in, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Data required by law or regulation is retained for the period the law requires.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the service:

• Recruiter Members — published candidate profiles/CVs are visible to registered recruiters for hiring purposes.
• Service providers (processors) — analytics and product-insight tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and infrastructure providers, which process data on our behalf under contract. Analytics processors are only engaged with your consent.
• Authorities — where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Subject to applicable law (including Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and, where relevant, the EU GDPR), you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• rectify inaccurate data (via your account area);
• request erasure (“right to be forgotten”);
• request portability of the data you provided;
• object to or restrict certain processing; and
• withdraw consent at any time (e.g. via cookie preferences).
