Job Details
The Production Manager oversees all aspects of paper production processes within a large paper manufacturing facility. Responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production operations, the role involves managing production teams, optimizing manufacturing workflows, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with quality and environmental regulations. Over 15 years in the paper manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Production Planning & Scheduling:
o Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company targets.
o Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and delivery of finished products.
• Operational Management:
o Supervise daily manufacturing operations across all production lines.
o Monitor and analyze production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
o Ensure optimal utilization of machinery and equipment to maximize productivity.
• Quality Control:
o Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and specifications.
o Oversee quality assurance procedures, including inspections, testing, and corrective actions.
• Safety & Compliance:
o Enforce safety protocols and promote a safe working environment.
o Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, motivate, and manage production teams, including supervisors and operators.
o Provide training, performance feedback, and support career development.
• Cost Management & Budgeting:
o Control production costs and optimize resource utilization.
o Prepare and manage budgets related to production operations.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Implement Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
o Drive innovation to improve product quality, process efficiency, and sustainability.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Proven experience in paper manufacturing or a similar heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of paper production machinery, processes, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
Work Environment:
The Production Manager works in a manufacturing plant environment, often involving shift work, exposure to machinery, and adherence to safety protocols.
