Accountant (FMCG Distribution)

Location: Lashibi, Comm 19 Junction

Salary: GHS 4, 000 – 5, 000

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage accounting and financial activities within an FMCG distribution environment. The ideal candidate should understand the financial processes associated with sales, inventory, purchases, receivables, payables, cash management and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.

Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly financial reports.

Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Monitor customer accounts, collections and outstanding balances.

Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions and ledger accounts.

Record and reconcile sales transactions.

Monitor purchases, expenses and supplier accounts.

Work closely with the Warehouse team to reconcile inventory movements and stock records.

Monitor stock-related financial transactions and investigate discrepancies.

Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other accounting documents.

Assist with monthly and year-end financial closing.

Monitor cash flow and support effective cash management.

Prepare management reports and financial analyses when required.

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax requirements and internal controls.

Support audits and provide required financial documentation.

Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Professional accounting qualification or progress towards one will be an advantage.

3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within an FMCG, trading or distribution company.

Strong understanding of inventory accounting, receivables, payables and sales accounting.

Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Good numerical and analytical abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work with large volumes of transactions.

Strong integrity and confidentiality.

Important: Preference will be given to candidates with accounting experience.
