Biology Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE & A Level)

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality Biology lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum.

• Prepare students effectively for Cambridge examinations, ensuring excellent academic achievement.

• Plan, organize, and supervise laboratory practicals, scientific investigations, and fieldwork while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

• Design comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, assessments, and revision materials aligned with Cambridge standards.

• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and aspirations of all students.

• Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of science.

• Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and pastoral support to students.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.

• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and continuous school improvement initiatives.

• Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, school events, extracurricular activities, and science clubs.

• Maintain accurate academic records and comply with school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Education, or a closely related field.

• A recognized teaching qualification (B. Ed. , PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent).

• A Master's degree will be an added advantage.

• A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, preferably within a Cambridge International or other internationally recognized curriculum.

• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Biology syllabi, examination requirements, practical assessments, and grading standards.

• Demonstrated experience preparing students for outstanding examination performance.

• Excellent laboratory management and practical teaching skills.

• Outstanding classroom management and student engagement abilities.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and record-keeping skills.

• High levels of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safeguarding children.

• A passion for scientific research, innovation, and student development.
