What we're building
Nestadia is building the trust infrastructure for cross-border real estate. Diaspora buyers in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany lose enormous sums trying to buy property "back home" — to fraud, fake titles, abandoned construction, and middlemen they can't verify from another continent. We close that gap with verified inspections, escrow protection, developer vetting, and buyer protection in one platform. We launch in Ghana first, then Kenya, then Nigeria.
We're pre-seed with an active raise, and we're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to build our MVP to a demoable, investor- and partner-ready state on a fixed-scope contract — with a clear path to a full-time founding-team role and equity once we close our seed round.
This is a build engagement with a defined finish line, not an open-ended retainer.
The work, at a glance
You'll build the MVP end to end alongside the founder and technical lead — a regulated, money-moving marketplace. At a high level that means buyer and developer onboarding, an escrow / conditional-payment flow, identity verification, secure document handling and e-signature, inspection capture, and notifications — built on a deliberately boring, stable, secure stack (React/TypeScript, Node/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, a major cloud provider).
You'll integrate, not rebuild, the regulated pieces (payments/escrow rails, KYC, e-signature, messaging) — so strong API-integration experience matters here.

Who you are
5+ years shipping production full-stack web apps.
Strong with React/TypeScript, a Node/TypeScript (or comparable) backend, and PostgreSQL.
You've integrated payments, identity, e-signature, or messaging APIs in production and understand the failure modes that matter when money is involved.
Disciplined about scope, security-minded by default, and self-directed enough to own delivery with minimal oversight.
Strongly helpful: fintech / payments / escrow · KYC integrations · marketplace platforms · compliance-sensitive or document-heavy products.
Bonus: PropTech · cross-border · emerging-markets · mobile-first/low-bandwidth UX.
Terms, briefly
Independent contractor, fixed-scope, milestone-based payment.
IP fully assigned to Nestadia; confidentiality and IP-assignment agreement signed before kickoff.
Converts to a full-time founding-team role with market salary and meaningful early-employee equity if the build goes well and we close our round.
