Job Details
Job Summary The Institute is seeking a versatile and hands-on IT Officer to manage its IT systems, hardware, and software support, ensuring smooth and secure technology operations across all departments. The ideal candidate is a true allrounder — equally comfortable resolving a hardware fault, securing the network, or supporting a staff member with a software issue — and can troubleshoot confidently across the full range of IT challenges without needing to hand off to a specialist.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide first-line and advanced IT support across all departments, resolving hardware, software, and system issues promptly
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, servers, and other IT equipment
• Manage and monitor the institute's network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches) to ensure reliable connectivity
• Implement and maintain basic cybersecurity measures — antivirus, firewalls, access controls, data backups, and safe system practices — to protect institutional data and systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, minimizing downtime across departments
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access
• Maintain an inventory of IT assets and coordinate repairs, upgrades, or replacements as needed
• Support staff with Microsoft Office and other common software/business applications
• Set up and support audio-visual equipment for meetings, training, and events as required
• Keep up to date with IT trends and recommend improvements to systems, security, and processes
• Document IT procedures, incidents, and resolutions for future reference

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant working experience
• Solid, hands-on knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting, networking, and systems support
• Working knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common IT support tools
• A versatile, self-driven approach — comfortable moving between different types of IT issues without difficulty
• Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting staff
• Must reside in Accra, Oyibi, or environs
