Job Details
A reputable company in Accra is looking for a Marketing Manager to join it’s team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the development and execution of integrated medical, retail and digital marketing strategies across all markets. The role is central to driving the long-term commercial growth of the brand by ensuring the consistent implementation of marketing activities in alignment with international guidelines and brand strategies.
The job incumbent will provide strategic support to oversee end-to-end digital marketing initiatives and develop the brand sales strategy ensuring its effective tactical execution across all channels to consolidate and grow the company’s market share.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Propose and champion innovative shopper and pharmacy activation concepts
• Prepare and submit weekly activity status reports
Retail Marketing
• Actively contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan, including local market analysis, SWOT assessments and new product launch planning in close collaboration with the sales and finance functions
• Develop and implement the annual retail marketing plan, incorporating innovative tool development, corporate communication, shopper activations, promotional calendars and budget planning
• Present the approved retail marketing plan for pharmacy chains in coordination with the sales team
• Manage, monitor and evaluate retail marketing activities as defined by the annual marketing plan
• Develop communication concepts for retail marketing activities in alignment with international guidelines
• Develop packaging concepts for promotional offers as defined by the annual marketing plan, ensuring compliance with international guidelines and regional specifications
• Ensure consistent adherence to planogram standards across all points of sale
• Ensure top class POS presentation and brand representation, maintaining full compliance with brand values, guidelines and standards
Medical Marketing
• Develop the annual medical business plan on a bottom-up basis in alignment with the Commercial Manager
• Monitor competitor activities and proactively present conclusions and strategic recommendations on a quarterly basis
• In-Visit Strategy: Equip Brands Specialists with upgraded promotional tools per cycle. Enhance the product knowledge of the Brands Specialists and reinforce their ability to conduct impactful consultations with healthcare professionals.
• Out-of-Visit Strategy: Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with healthcare professionals through PR activities, AGMs and such like events
• Field Team Engagement: Serve as the strategic link between medical marketing and healthcare professionals
Digital Marketing
• Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that drives measurable online growth
• Plan and oversee all web, SEO/SEM, social media and display advertising campaigns
• Define clear KPIs to measure the effectiveness of all digital marketing activities
• Monitor, measure and report on the performance of digital campaigns against established goals, including ROIs and KPIs
• Plan, oversee and evaluate marketing experiments and conversion tests
• Collaborate with external agencies and vendor partners as required
• Develop and manage all campaign budgets with diligence and accountability
• Conduct regular reviews of brand messaging to ensure consistency, brand integrity and competitive differentiation
Financial Management
• Formulate and plan the department’s annual budget within the context of the Company’s overall budget.
• Develop, implement and monitor the sales and marketing (income and expenditure) budget to ensure it is within approved limits.
• Provide accurate financial information for the sales and marketing department to senior management to monitor performance.
Market Budget Management
• Raise purchase orders for all activities in compliance with internal financial policies and regulations
• Conduct continuous monitoring of budget status and expenditure
• Ensure budgets are adhered to and utilized efficiently across all activities
SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
• At least seven (7) years of sales and marketing experience; three (3) of which should be in a management position; A minimum of two (2) years sales and marketing experience in Pharmaceutical or Fast Moving Consumer Goods setting.
• Possess a broad understanding of key business functions and organizational processes
• Leadership experience in sales and marketing management
