You'll own: – End-to-end technical architecture – Build-vs-buy decisions across payments, KYC, document signing, geo-verification, compliance monitoring – Selection and management of regulated partners (money transmitter or BaaS, KYC vendors, conveyancing partners) – Security posture and SOC 2 readiness path – Hiring as funding lands – Investor diligence and board technical narrative

Must-haves: – You've shipped a regulated financial product. You know what BSA/AML, KYC, OFAC, and PCI mean in code, not in policy slides. – You've integrated payment rails directly and have scars from it. – You've worked on a multi-sided platform and understand role separation and trust signals. – You write production code today, not just architecture diagrams. You've shipped a v1 with a team of 2–3 in under 4 months. –

Bonus: cross-border or emerging-markets product exposure.

Traits we are filtering for: – Regulatory instinct over technical aesthetics – Build-vs-buy discipline (you will not build a KYC engine) – Boring-technology bias – Fluent with non-engineers — you can explain a six-week integration runway to a CFO in five sentences – Comfortable with ambiguity and compliance rigor at the same time

Compensation: Base Salary + Equity

Location: Remote — US, EU, or Africa. Must overlap 4+ hours daily with US Pacific time.
